Google My Business Setup

Having a branded and optimized Google Business Profile (GBP) is a great way to show up in local Google Search Results. This profile is free to create and free to maintain and update. An accurate, branded, up to date GBP is a pillar of digital marketing that works well with your other marketing channels to bring you customers. (It’s best when coordinated with your website, email newsletter, public website listings, industry directories, and social media profiles.)

1. Profile setup

Shapes & Colors will set up your Google My Business profile and customize the profile with existing content from your business (logo, business description, hours, etc.).

2. Profile transfer

After setup, we will invite you in as a primary owner and remove ourselves.

Turnaround time
After receiving all elements from a business owner, we will test that the email inbox is monitored with one test message. Once we receive a response, the profile can be created within 3 business days.

Google verification codes may take 7-21 days to arrive and the business owner will need to monitor their mailbox to provide the code sent from Google.

Once the verification code is provided, Google may still take an additional 2-6 weeks to update the listing.

Maintenance
We will provide a best practices document to each business owner once setup is complete and walk you through a recorded 20-30-minute training. If you would like further assistance with your profile, we have a Google My Business consulting add-on that includes 5 hours of follow-up calls or design time, priced at $749.

Troubleshooting
If there are any issues with the business owner profile, someone with a paid Google Workspace account can contact Google Support.
